Snohomish County PUD is offering more incentives for homeowners who use energy efficient appliances.
Customers can now receive home efficiency kits and/or monetary rewards for purchasing qualifying efficient appliances. Visit the PUD’s Smart Rewards website to compare models, based on energy scores and rewards. There’s also information about different appliances, like reviews, an eco-review and store locations. After purchasing appliances, customers can submit receipts at the Smart Rewards website.
To learn more about qualifications, compare appliance models and other details, visit this website or call the PUD’s Energy Hotline at 425-783-1700 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
PUD is also offering incentives for weatherization, heating and lighting upgrades.
The utility can help you cover costs for duct sealing and insulation, heat pumps and efficient windows for electrically heated homes. Customers can receive a $1,200 rebate, for example, for installing a ductless heat pump. That number includes a $400 bonus available through April 1.
These units not only reduce your PUD bill, but they also may improve comfort in your home.
Efficient CFL and LED light bulbs also can help reduce PUD bills because they use a fraction of the electricity compared to traditional incandescent light bulbs. The PUD works with more than 150 retailers throughout Snohomish County to offer discounts on bulbs.
