Snohomish County PUD is rolling out a free, limited-time opportunity for small businesses in Mountlake Terrace and Lynnwood to potentially save energy and lower their PUD bill.
Over the next several weeks Willdan Energy Solutions, the PUD’s contractor for the project, will visit local businesses to offer a free energy assessment and installation of simple energy-saving measures at no cost. These measures include efficient screw-in lighting, faucet aerators, pre-rinse spray valves and LED “Open” signs.
“This program allows us to build on our community’s sustainability efforts and help small businesses,” said Shane Hope, Mountlake Terrace Community and Economic Development Director. “It helps businesses save on energy costs, raises awareness of conservation in our communities and provides additional jobs in the region.”
Businesses can contact Willdan at 855-860-2661 or visit www.snopud.com/willdan for more information.
Ms. Hope:
It would also help small businesses and aid energy conservation, as well as further jobs for installers, if the City would reduce its fees for commercial solar installs. The fees I just finished paying to the City were 5% of the cost of my solar project. I realize the City needs to derive revenues from somewhere but creating a disincentive to implementing the green energy projects promoted by President Obama and Governor Inslee doesn’t help get them installed in Mountlake Terrace.
Something to think about.
BTW SnoPUD link in the post is broken..:)
