Snohomish County Fire District 1 responded to 368 calls the week of April 17-23: 295 emergency medical aid calls, 26 motor vehicle collisions, 14 fires, 8 service calls, 2 gas leaks, one rescue and 22 automatic fire alarms.
April 17
COLLISION: At 5:51 p.m., a two-car collision was reported in the 12800 block of Beverly Park Road north of Lynnwood. Two patients with minor injuries were transported by firefighters to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.
April 18
COOKING FIRE: At 11:22 a.m., an oil fire on a stove was reported at an apartment in the 16600 block of 6th Avenue W east of Lynnwood. The resident used a comforter to smother the flames. The fire was contained to the stovetop. Firefighters cleared the smoke from the unit and treated an individual at the scene for minor burns.
COLLISION: At 2:53 p.m., a car struck a parked vehicle in the 1000 block of 9th Avenue S in Edmonds. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.
April 19
RESCUE: Firefighters were dispatched to rescue two men in an overturned sailboat on Lake Ballinger in the 23500 block of Lakeview Drive in Mountlake Terrace. The men were brought ashore aboard a fire department board. The men were evaluated by medics at the scene. They were wet and cold, but uninjured.
April 20
COLLISION: At 8:04 a.m., a car struck a parked vehicle in the 22600 block of 100th Avenue W in Edmonds. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.
GARAGE FIRE: At 2:11 p.m., a garage fire was reported in the 18200 block of 88th Avenue W in Edmonds. The residents evacuated the area safely. Firefighters cut an access hole in the garage door and extinguished a fire under the hood of a car parked in the garage. The fire did not extend to the structure.
April 21
COLLISION: At 9:21 a.m., a collision was reported at 236th Street SW and Highway 99 in Edmonds. Firefighters transported one patient with minor injuries Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.
April 22
COLLISION: At 8:58 p.m., a two-car collision was reported at 121st Street SW and Beverley Park Road north of Lynnwood. Firefighters transported two patients to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.
April 23
COLLISION: At 11:23 p.m., a car struck a pedestrian at 128th Street SW and 8th Avenue W south of Everett. Firefighters transported the seriously injured pedestrian to Harborview Medical Center.
