Fire District 1Snohomish County Fire District 1 responded to 713 calls Sept. 18-Oct. 1: 573 emergency medical aid calls, 61 motor vehicle collisions, 26 fires, 19 service calls, 5 natural gas leaks, 1 hazardous materials call and 28 automatic fire alarms.

Sept. 18

COLLISION:  At 9:47 p.m., a car left the road, hit a pole and rolled onto its side at 220th Street SW and 76th Avenue W in Edmonds. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

Sept. 19

COLLISION:  At 9:37 a.m., firefighters responded to a collision at Butternut Road and Larch Way east of Lynnwood and transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

Sept. 20

COLLISION:  At 9:47 p.m., a two-car collision was reported at 3rd Avenue N and Main Street in Edmonds. Firefighters transported two patients to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

Sept. 21

CAR FIRE:  At 1:17 a.m., firefighters extinguished a car fire in the 5700 block of 125th Street SE east of Mill Creek. The car was unoccupied and no one was injured.

Sept. 22

COLLISION:  At 7:05 a.m., firefighters responded to a collision at 238th Street SW and Highway 99 in Edmonds and transported to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

COLLISION:  At 7:21 a.m., a two-car collision was reported at 212th Street SW and 44th Avenue W. Firefighters used power tools to extricate the occupants from the wreckage. Firefighters transported two patients to Harborview Medical Center and one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

Sept. 23

COLLISION:  At 10:54 a.m., a two-car collision was reported at 204th Street SW and 24th Place W east of Lynnwood. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

COLLISION:  At 2:41 p.m., a three-car collision was reported at 121st Street SW and Beverly Park Road south of Everett. Firefighters transported one patient to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.

COLLISION:  At 9:40 p.m., a car struck a bicyclist at the corner of 148th Street SW and Highway 99 north of Lynnwood. Firefighters transported the injured cyclist to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

Sept. 24

COLLISION:  At 3:00 p.m., a three-car collision was reported at 236th Street SW and Cedar Way S in Mountlake Terrace. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

Sept. 25

COLLISION:  At 3:16 p.m., a two-car collision was reported at 164th Street SW and North Road west of Mill Creek. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

COLLISION:  At 9:25 p.m., a four-car collision was reported on southbound I-5 at 244th Street SW in Mountlake Terrace. Firefighters transported one patient to Northwest Hospital.

Sept. 26

COLLISION:  At 8:30 p.m., a car left the roadway and struck a tree at the corner of 13th Avenue W and 172nd Street SW east of Lynnwood. The firefighters used power equipment to free one patient trapped in the wreckage. The patient was transported to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

Sept. 27

GARAGE FIRE:  At 11:24 p.m., a fire alarm sounded in a condominium complex in the 15800 block of 18th Avenue W north of Lynnwood. Building residents were evacuated. Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke coming from a garage. Firefighters opened the garage and found the sprinklers had extinguished the fire. They ventilated the garage. There was little damage and residents returned to the building.

Sept. 28

COLLISION:  At 4:21 p.m., a car spun out on southbound SR 525 near the Alderwood Mall exit. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

Sept. 29

COLLISION:  At 1:35 p.m., a two-car collision was reported at 4th Avenue W and Center Road south of Everett. Firefighters transported two patients to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.

Sept. 30

COLLISION:  At 3:10 p.m., a three-car collision was reported on southbound I-5 north of 236th Street SW in Mountlake Terrace. Firefighters transported three patients to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

COLLISION:  At 4:16 p.m., a two-car collision was reported in the 23900 block of Highway 99 in Edmonds. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

COLLISION:  At 8:10 p.m., a car struck a pedestrian at 148th Street SW and Highway 99 north of  Lynnwood. The pedestrian was transported by firefighters to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

Oct. 1

COLLISION:  At 5:47 a.m., a three-car collision was reported on southbound I-5 south of 236th Street in Mountlake Terrace. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

ATTIC FIRE:  At 1:05 p.m., firefighters responded to a fire in an abandoned church building in the 21700 block of 58th Avenue W in Mountlake Terrace. The cause is believed to be faulty wiring in the attic space. Damage is estimated at $60,000. No one was hurt.

COLLISION:  At 4:59 p.m., a vehicle crashed and came to rest upside down in a ditch at the intersection of King Place and Larch Way northeast of Lynnwood. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.
