Snohomish County Fire District 1 calls: Sept. 11-17

Fire District 1 logoSnohomish County Fire District 1 responded to 389 calls the week of Sept. 11-17: 293 emergency medical aid calls, 28 motor vehicle collisions, 28 fires, 22 service calls, 3 natural gas leaks and 15 automatic fire alarms.

Sept. 11

APARTMENT FIRE: At 6:38 p.m., firefighters were called to an apartment fire in the 13000 block of 8thAvenue W south of Everett. Firefighters arrived to find flames coming from a third-story window. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and kept flames contained to one bedroom. The Snohomish County Fire Marshal’s Office investigated the fire and determined it was most likely started by an electric heating pad in a reptile enclosure. The renters have insurance. Damage is estimated at $40,000. No one was injured.

Sept. 12

COLLISION: At 6:43 a.m., firefighters responded to a one-car rollover collision in the 2200 block of 136thPlace SW north of Lynnwood. Firefighters transported one patient to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.

APARTMENT FIRE: At 8:18 a.m., firefighters responded to a two-alarm apartment fire in the 4300 block of 236th Street SW in Mountlake Terrace. No one was injured. Firefighters rescued one dog. Three units were heavily damaged by the fire and two other units had smoke and water damage. Damage is estimated at $500,000. Fire investigators determined the accidental fire was most likely started by a smoldering cigarette.

COLLISION: At 6:45 p.m., firefighters responded to a two-car collision at 164th Street SW and Motor Place east of Lynnwood and transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

Sept. 13

COLLISION: At 7:56 p.m., a three-car collision was reported at 216th Street SW and Highway 99 in Edmonds. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

COLLISION:  At 8:25 p.m., a car and a motorcycle collided at 128th St. SW and 8th Ave. W south of Everett. Firefighters transported the injured motorcyclist to Harborview Medical Center.

Sept. 14

COLLISION: At 7:08 a.m., a two-car collision was reported in the 14200 block of Beverly Park Road north of Lynnwood. Firefighters transported one patient to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.

COLLISION: At 1:49 p.m., a hit-and-run collision involving two vehicles was reported in the 12800 block of Highway 99 south of Everett. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Mill Creek Emergency Room.

COLLISION: At 9:38 p.m., four people were injured in a three-car collision at 220th Street SW and Highway 99 in Edmonds.  Firefighters transported one patient to Harborview Medical Center and three patients to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

Sept. 15

COLLISION: At 7:19 a.m., two cars collided head-on near the intersection of 196th Street SW and 80thAvenue W in Edmonds. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

Sept. 16

COLLISION: At 10:22 p.m., two motorcycles collided at 148th Street SW and Highway 99 north of Lynnwood Firefighters transported one patient to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.

Sept. 17

COLLISION: At 4:19 p.m., a two-car collision was reported at 127th Place SE and 51st Avenue SE southeast of Everett. Firefighters transported two patients to Swedish/Mill Creek Emergency Room.

COLLISION:  At 9:20 p.m., a car went off the road into a ditch at the corner of 195th Street SW and Bing Road east of Lynnwood. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.
