Snohomish County Fire District 1 responded to 729 calls March 19-April 1: 600 emergency medical aid calls, 53 motor vehicle collisions, 17 fires, 26 service calls, 2 natural gas leaks, 2 rescues and 29 automatic fire alarms.
March 19
COLLISION: At 5:42 a.m., two people were injured in a two-car collision at 164th Street SW and Larch Way northeast of Lynnwood. Firefighters transported both patients to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.
COLLISION: At 4:26 p.m., there was a two-car collision at N Damson Road and Filbert Road east of Lynnwood. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.
March 20
COLLISION: At 11:57 a.m., three people were injured in a three-car collision at 164th Street SW and the northbound on-ramp to I-5. Firefighters transported two of the patients to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital and a private ambulance transported the third patient to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.
COLLISION: At 1:02 p.m., a car was involved in a collision at 76th Avenue W and Olympic View Drive in Edmonds. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.
March 21
RESCUE: At 12:27 p.m., firefighters responded with a fire rescue boat to assist two people aboard a 26-foot boat that ran aground near the Edmonds ferry dock. The boaters were uninjured and their boat was towed to the gas dock.
March 23
COLLISION: At 1:23 p.m., a rear-end collision was reported on northbound I-5 just south of the 196th Street SW exit. Firefighters responded and transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.
March 24
COLLISION: At 3:35 p.m., a two-car collision occurred at 220th Street SW and 76th Avenue W in Edmonds. Firefighters responded and transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.
March 25
COLLISION: At 8:03 a.m., a two-car collision occurred at 220th Street SW and 66th Avenue W in Mountlake Terrace. Firefighters responded and transported three patients to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.
COLLISION: At 8:06 a.m., a three-car collision was reported in the 23300 block of Cedar Way in Mountlake Terrace. Firefighters responded and transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.
March 26
CAR FIRE: At 12:21 p.m., firefighters responded to a car fire in the 12900 block of SR-525 north of Lynnwood.
COLLISION: At 3:46 p.m., a two-car collision occurred at 220th Street SW and Highway 99 in Edmonds. Firefighters responded and transported two patients to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.
March 27
ELECTRICAL FIRE: At 6:23 a.m., firefighters extinguished a small fire in a maintenance room of the Mill Creek YMCA in the 13700 block of Puget Park Drive. No one was injured. Fire damage was contained to the maintenance room, but equipment in a cardio-fitness room may have sustained smoke damage. Fire investigators determined the fire was started by a drill battery charger.
WATER RESCUE: At 5:51 p.m., firefighters responded with a fire rescue boat to assist a parasurfer in distress near the Edmonds ferry dock. Ferry crews also launched a rescue boat. The ferry crews pulled the man to safety and met up with firefighters who brought him to shore aboard the fire rescue boat. The parasurfer was not injured.
March 28
COLLISION: At 12:39 p.m., there was a collision at 204th Street SW and 28th Avenue W east of Lynnwood. Firefighters responded and transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.
March 29
TRUCK FIRE: At 3:45 a.m., firefighters extinguished a truck fire on southbound on I-5 north of 164th Street SW.
March 30
COLLISION: At 12:57 a.m., a car struck a utility pole and rolled over at 220th Street SW and 76th Avenue W in Edmonds. Firefighters responded and transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.
BRUSH FIRE: At 2:36 p.m., a brush fire was reported in the right-of-way under the power lines in the Silver Firs neighborhood. The fire burned four acres in the right-of-way just south of the Whistle Stop mini mart in the 5600 block of 134th Place SE to about 137th Street SE. Firefighters attacked the fire from the north on an access road off 134th Place SE and from locations in neighborhoods on the east and west of the right of way. The fire was contained to vegetation and no one was injured. Investigators determined the fire was started by a teenager playing with a lighter.
March 31
COLLISION: At 9:55 a.m., a car went off the road on the off-ramp from southbound I-5 to 196th Street SW. Firefighters responded and transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.
April 1
COLLISION: At 8:28 p.m., a transit bus and a car were involved in a collision at 224th Street SW and Highway 99 in Edmonds. One of the bus passengers reported a minor injury and was transported by firefighters to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.
