Snohomish County Fire District 1 calls: Aug. 21-27

Fire District 1

Snohomish County Fire District 1 responded to 361 calls the week of Aug. 21-27: 298 emergency medical aid calls, 11 motor vehicle collisions, 20 fires, 13 service calls, 1 rescue and 18 automatic fire alarms.

Aug. 21

BRUSH FIRE: At 1:01 a.m., firefighters extinguished a fire that burned a 15-foot section of fence and four trees near 226th Street SW and Edmonds Way in Edmonds.

Aug. 22

COLLISION: At 3:05 p.m., a head-on collision was reported at Highway 99 and Lincoln Way north of Lynnwood. Firefighters transported two patients to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

Aug. 24

CAR FIRE: At 4:28 a.m., firefighters extinguished a car fire in the 2700 block of 129th Street SW south of Everett.

Aug. 25

PORCH FIRE: At 2:32 p.m., firefighters responded to a fire at a house in the 8300 block of 218th Street SW in Edmonds. The fire started in a potted plant on a wooden porch and flames extended into the front wall of the residence. Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames. No one was injured. Damage is estimated at $50,000. Fire investigators believe a cigarette discarded in the potted plant started the fire.

Aug. 27

BRUSH FIRE: At 9:35 p.m., firefighters extinguished a brush fire in the 3300 block of 204th Street SW southeast of Lynnwood.
