Snohomish County fire calls: March 6-12

Fire District 1Snohomish County Fire District 1 responded to 328 calls the week of March 6-12: 269 emergency medical aid calls, 23 motor vehicle collisions, 9 fires, 9 service calls, 1 natural gas leaks and 17 automatic fire alarms

March 6

COLLISION:  At 6:23 p.m., a car crashed into a restaurant in the 22700 block of Highway 99 in Edmonds. No one was injured and there was no structural damage to the restaurant.

March 7

FIRE:  At 2:53 a.m., a passerby reported a fire at an abandoned house in the 1200 block of 112thStreet SW near Everett. Firefighters arrived to find smoke coming from the boarded-up house. They extinguished a fire in a back room. The Snohomish County Fire Marshal’s Office investigated and determined this was a case of arson.

March 8

COLLISION:  At 11:08 a.m., a two-car collision was reported 164th Street SW and Larch Way east of Lynnwood. Firefighters transported two patients to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

March 10

PEDESTRIAN STRUCK BY CAR:  At 4:11 p.m., a pedestrian was struck by a car in the 12300 block of Andrew Sater Road south of Everett. The pedestrian had minor injuries and was transported by firefighters to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.

March 11

BUS FIRE:  At 7:48 p.m., a bus engine caught fire on northbound I-5 in the Lynnwood area. The passengers safely disembarked and firefighters extinguished the blaze.

COLLISION:  At 8:04 p.m., a two-car collision was reported on southbound I-5 in the Lynnwood area.  One person was injured and transported by firefighters to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.
