Sno-Isle Libraries to present TEDx program in November

sno isleSno-Isle Libraries promises to bring some of the region’s most fascinating thinkers, innovators, artists and speakers to the stage when it presents TEDxSnoIsleLibraries on Nov. 6 at the Edmonds Center for the Arts.

The day-long program, “Creating New Futures,” will feature the famous TED Talks format. Though TEDx events are locally organized, some of the best TEDx presentations have been featured on TED.com and garnered millions of views from audiences around the globe.

The library district will partner with the Sno-Isle Libraries Foundation and other organizations to put on the event, said Executive Director Jonalyn Woolf-Ivory.

“Building civic engagement and connecting communities are high on our list of priorities, and TEDx is an exciting way for us to do both,” she said. “We want people to mark Nov. 6 on their calendars and come share the energy of the occasion. Those who can’t attend the free program can watch it live-streamed on our website, or can watch later when we post the videos online.”

She encouraged people to visit sno-isle.org/tedxsnoislelibraries, where they can sign up to be notified when registration opens.

The website also contains information for anyone interested in being a sponsorship partner for the high-profile event, or wishing to suggest a topic or speaker. Program suggestions will be taken until May 31.
