A small but festive group gathered at the American Legion Hall in Mountlake Terrace Wednesday night for a Thanksgiving dinner of turkey, ham and all the trimmings at an event put on by Americorps Vet Corps, a veterans’ assistance organization.

The dinner brought together local residents, representatives from the Veterans Resource Center at Edmonds Community College, and a number of Americorps volunteers.

Four players from the Everett Silvertips junior hockey team were on hand to share conversation and autographed photos.

Americorps hopes to make the holiday dinner an annual event, said representative Crystal Thompson.
