On Saturday, April 24, 2010 the students of Seattle Tae Kwon Do and residents of Mountlake Terrace will be honoring Mountlake Terrace City Councilman John Zambrano with an honorary Black Belt. The Black Belt is a sign of a individuals commitment to excellence and contribution to society. Councilman Zambrano has been an outstanding asset to our community. He served over 20 years in United States Navy and then worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 25 years. He is currently on his second term as a City Councilman. Seattle Tae Kwon Do in its 18 years in Mountlake Terrace has never given an honorary Black Belt out. Councilman Zambrano has been very helpful to the Students of Seattle Tae Kwon Do and our community at large. The presentation will take place at the end of our monthly Color Belt Graduation Ceremonies at 11:30am. Councilman Zambrano is the first public official in Washington State to be given this distinction.
