The Seattle Storm and LifeWise Health Plan of Washington have teamed up to launch the 2014 Take Your Health By Storm campaign that will encourage basketball fans and people everywhere to begin their journey toward leading a healthier life.
LifeWise Health Plan of Washington is a subsidiary of Premera Blue Cross, a non-profit health insurance company headquartered in Mountlake Terrace.
The center of the campaign is a group of Storm fans and LifeWise Ambassadors who are all working toward their personal health goals. This “Seattle Storm All-Star Team” will be coached and mentored by Storm player Sue Bird and LifeWise Honorary Director of Healh and Inspiration Ariana Kukors.
The Take Your Health By Storm All-Star Team will be unveiled at the Storm’s Friday, June 6 home basketball game against the 2013 WNBA champions, the Minnesota Lynx.
Throughout the campaign, the Take Your Health By Storm All-Star Team will track their progress on social media, including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, and fans are encouraged to follow along and support the team’s journey. The Storm and LifeWise will also host a number of community events throughout the Puget Sound region, including hiking and kayaking activities, in which everyone is welcome to participate.
“Take Your Health By Storm aligns with everything we represent at LifeWise,” said Jim Havens, CEO of LifeWise Health Plan of Washington.” We are committed to being a health support partner for our members and encouraging them on every step of their journey to living a healthier life. We are excited to partner with the Seattle Storm to positively impact the health of Storm fans and the broader community.”
