About an hour after resuming the search for Amy Kennelly Thursday morning, a woman’s body was discovered in the woods. This discovery was made about 100 yards from the location where her car had crashed on the night of Feb. 29. The area was heavily wooded.

“There is no evidence to suggest that the woman ended up in that location by any means but her own,” said Edmonds police spokesman Sgt. Shane Hawley. “No foul play is suspected in this case and the police department does not feel there is any danger to the public at this time.”

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office has been called to respond to the scene. Final identification and cause of death are determined by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The Edmonds Police Department is still at the location completing their investigation, Hawley said.

A roadblock is set up on Algonquin Road while police investigate.
  1. No need for the public to worried? RED FLAGS to me. Did this woman take walks in heavily wooded area’s often by herself? What’s the distance from Mountlake Terrace to Woodway, a few miles. I think there’s plenty to be concerned about.
