The book is the fifth compilation of moving personal essays from Scriber Lake High School students. The essays, written by 14 students and one graduate, center around the struggles in each student’s life, from abuse, to addiction, to mental illness.

Since 2011, Scriber Lake English teacher Marjie Bowker has provided her students with an opportunity to heal from their experiences by writing and sharing their stories with others in an academic setting. The book has been dramatized by Seattle Public Theater and is performed by Scriber students.

Students from Scriber, as well as Mariner, Medowdale and Marysville High Schools will attend the shows on Friday, Dec. 2, but limited seating is available for other members of the public who wish to attend. Shows begin at 10:30 a.m. and noon and are free.

Tickets can be reserved by calling 425-640-1448  or emailing  [email protected]. Available seats are limited and will be released on a first come first serve basis.
