The Edmonds School District summer music program students entering sixth through twelfth grades is moving to Brier Terrace Middle School this year, with the three-week program beginning on June 24.
The Summer Music School is sponsored by the Edmonds School District’s Visual and Performing Arts Department, and will include opportunities in band, orchestra, choir, vocal and instrumental jazz and ensembles, and exploratory elective classes in a whole range of musical study and practices.
The program will also include a field trip to the EMP in Seattle, an opportunity to march as a band member in the Edmonds’ Fourth of July parade, and two concert performances at the end of the three-week session. The July 11 performance is slated to take place at the Edmonds Center for the Arts.
Daily sessions of the Summer Music School run from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuition is $325 per student and includes all courses, music, transportation to the EMP and participatory events, and a T-shirt. Brier Terrace Middle School is located at 22200 Brier Road in Brier.
