School Board approves Brier Terrace Middle School parking lot renovation project

Edmonds School DistrictThe Edmonds School District Board of Directors recently approved a  $450,000 total budget to replace or upgrade damaged and worn out paving in the Brier Terrace Middle School parking lot.

The Board approved a $100,000 preliminary budget last year. The projec t would replace or upgrade damaged and worn out paving at key locations on the campus. The engineer will produce the final design, final cost estimates and construction schedule. The Capital Projects Office is scheduled to advertise for bids in the next several weeks. The project is scheduled to be constructed this summer and is funded by the 2014 Capital Bond

The Board also:

  • Approved a $1.7 million budget to install a new water system at the former Woodway High School site. The District next will advertise for construction bids on the project. The Board approved a $100,000 preliminary budget last year.
  • Approved $900,000 in additional budget authority for the fire sprinkler and roof replacement project at Hazelwood Elementary School. The Board approved a preliminary budget of $100,000 last October.
  • Authorized a $402,485 architectural contract with Bassetti Architects for installation of re-locatable classrooms at 12 elementary schools.
