Mike McAuliffe was driving down Maplewood toward Main Street in Edmonds Thursday when he says he saw something coming down the sidewalk. “My first reaction was, “What a big dog,” but as I got closer it turned out to be a deer,” he said. The deer headed into a vacant lot on Maplewood where a house had recently been torn down and McAuliffe took this photo while the animal enjoyed a lunchtime snack. “I have lived a few blocks off Maplewood for 15 years and this was the first time I have seen a deer in the area,” he said.
