Scene in Mountlake Terrace: Winter moon

As seen from Mountlake Terrace, Friday night’s “Full Cold Moon” makes an appearance at the same time as the winter solstice, and the Ursid Meteor Shower. Why is it called the Full Cold Moon? According to the Old Farmer’s Almanac: “It is fittingly associated with the month when the winter cold fastens its grip and the nights become long and dark.” (Photo by David Carlos)
