The annual City of Mountlake Terrace Tree Lighting Ceremony is scheduled to take place the evening of Friday, Dec. 6 at Evergreen Playfield, 22205 56th Ave. W.
The event will again be sponsored by Mountlake Terrace Plaza.
It will include musical performances, a visit from Santa, and the traditional lighting of the tree.
Visible for miles around, the enormous “tree” is actually a frame constructed of over 1,800 LED lights located on top of the city’s water tower. Long-time volunteers from Tour de Terrace will serve free cookies, hot coffee and cocoa at the concession stand and Santa will meet with children after his grand entrance on a fire truck.
What time?
Have not seen a news release from the city yet announcing the time. This was meant to be a save the date — as soon as I get official word we’ll update the story. Last year it started at 6:30 p.m.
I heard from the city today it will be at 6:30 p.m.
