Would you know what to do if someone collapsed? That’s the question students were asked at Mountlake Terrace High School when an AED/CPR flash mob invaded their gym during an assembly in late 2014. The events were organized by the Heart of Edmonds School District & Community Heart Safe Project and Nick of Time Foundation, a non-profit organization. Melinda Truax helped organize each event after her 16-year-old son Matthew collapsed on the Meadowdale High School track in September 2013 and died from sudden cardiac arrest. Everyone is invited to attend the Save A Life; Equip a Hero gala fundraiser planned for Feb. 28 at the Lynnwood Convention Center. Money raised will be used to purchase automated external defibrillators for all district schools. You can purchase gala tickets or make a donation at www.heartofedmondssd.org
