While city hall is pushing for more economic development in the Town Center core, a couple of smaller-scale projects were recently completed by businesses along the 220th Street corridor in Mountlake Terrace.

The Ryco office building, 6180-220th St. S.W., recently finished a 16,000-square-foot expansion, adding 10,000 square feet of warehouse space and 6,000 square feet of office space.

One block to the west, Premera Blue Cross, Mountlake Terrace’s biggest employer, added a secure lighted parking lot for 225 vehicles on the north side of their campus. The project included a crosswalk on 214th Street Southwest, a pedestrian bridge over Halls Creek, and wetland and stream buffer enhancements.

The City of Mountlake Terrace reports there were 121 land use and engineering application processed and 418 building permits finalized during the first six months of 2012. The total value of private projects constructed in the city during this time was $6.5 million.
