Work crews will have 39th Avenue West between 226th and 228th Streets Southwest in Mountlake Terrace closed to traffic from approximately 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, March 29, and on Monday and Tuesday, April 1 – 2, to install a new water main, new storm drain pipes, and a new hydrant. Use of the roadway will be restricted to emergency vehicles, mail delivery and local residents; all other drivers are advised to use 38th Avenue West as a detour route.
The project is part of the city’s Eastside Water Main and Storm Drain Improvements that began in late February. Construction on 39th Avenue West, 228th Street SW and 44th Avenue West / Cedar Way is expected to continue into the summer months. Following the placement of water and storm pipes the roadways will be resurfaced and given new lane configurations.
