“Road & Track” Editor Emeritus Tom Bryant will serve as chief judge for the Concours d’Elegance at The Wood set for this Saturday, June 23 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Lynnwood Golf Course. Currently 65 cars are scheduled to fill the ranks of the 5th Annual Classic, Sports and Muscle Car show organized by Alderwood-Terrace Rotary. First-, second- and third-place awards will be presented in each category, along with Best of Show.
In addition, the People’s Choice Award will be given to the car raising the greatest amount of money during the first four hours of the show. Attendees will be invited to choose their favorite for $1 per vote. Generous donations are encouraged to support the Rotary Clubs Foundation, which benefits a variety of youth-oriented activities throughout South Snohomish County.
Bryant served as editor-in-chief of the popular car enthusiast magazine for 20 years. He retired in 2008, capping a 36-year career. This is the second year he has given his time to the event. “We are honored to have his expertise and experience,” said Kim Pierce, Concours President. “We are very pleased to have him join us again.” The event is sanctioned for national points to the award winners.
Among the history-making cars that will be present are a Porsche 550 Spyder (of James Dean fame), a 356 Porsche Speedster, a Phantom III Rolls Royce and Al Unser Jr’s Championship Can Am Frisbee.
Along with the car show, 10 wineries and two local breweries will be participating in a wine tasting for $50. During the event, three fashion shows will tour the fairway with designs from Lucy Loves Ethel and MAC Fashion House.
The title sponsor of the event is Harris Private Bank, a part of BMO Financial Group. Doug’s Cadillac is the Presenting Sponsor and Union Bank is sponsoring the VIP tent.
