To celebrate National Poetry Month, the Mountlake Terrace Library will host an event that brings together poetry and music on Saturday, April 16.

Poetry and Music will include a time for poets of all ages to share at an open mic on Saturday from 12:45 — 3 p.m. The event will also include appearances by Leija Farr, Seattle’s first Youth Poet Laureate, performing some of her original poetry, and Cara Hill, an Emmy and Telly award-winning composer and musician, performing arrangements of classical, jazz and contemporary pieces.

Poetry and Music, and a reception following the event, is open to all ages and is sponsored by the Friends of the Mountlake Terrace Library. The library is located at 23300 58th Ave. W. in Mountlake Terrace.
