Reminder: Get your tickets for Mountlake Terrace Friends of the Arts annual crab/prime rib dinner/auction on Friday

mltnewsThe Mountlake Terrace Friends of the Arts in conjunction with the Mountlake Terrace Arts Advisory Commission is hosting a Dungeness Crab/Prime Rib Dinner and silent auction  on Friday, Oct. 10, at the Nile Country Club (6601 244th St.  SW.)

The event benefits the to benefit the Manu Sood Memorial Scholarship and the Mountlake Terrace Friends of the Arts. Tickets are $35 for adults, and $20 for children  and can be purchased at:  www.brownpapertickets.com/event/750081. In addition, the evening will feature the jazz music of the Mountlake Terrace Alumni Quartet of Marina Christopher on string bass and vocals, Kevin Proudfoot on piano, Morgan Gilkeson on drums, and Brian Bermudez on saxophone. The  master of ceremonies will be Western Washington’s “Best Officiate”, Dale Amundsen, as voted by King TV viewers.

For the 2015 graduating year, the Manu Sood Memorial scholarship will be opened up for all students within the Edmonds School District to apply to with an intent to pursue studies in the visual arts. Candidates are interviewed and a winner is selected by the Mountlake Terrace Arts Commission. Manu Sood was a longtime supporter of the Edmonds School District and the arts within the Mountlake Terrace community, and served as an arts commissioner for the city selecting the student liaison from Mountlake Terrace High School and serving on the arts commission board until November 2009. To date, four graduating seniors from Mountlake Terrace High School have been chosen for this prestigious scholarship in her name and honor.
