Taluswood Apartments in Mountlake Terrace is hosting a big apartment-wide garage sale this weekend, May 14-15, which will feature something not normally seen at such events — food trucks.
Four food trucks total are scheduled to be at the sale — two on Saturday and two on Sunday. On Saturday, Yummy Box, offering Asian fusion fare, and Dirty Dog, selling hot dogs, will be at the sale; on Sunday Seattle Mamak will bring Malaysian dishes, and Big Dog, also selling hot dogs, will be on site.
The sale will also include dozens of Taluswood residents selling second-hand items and some original creations. “We have over 30 people participating in the sale,” said Taluswood Leasing Manager Melanie Bell. “There will be furniture, household items, clothes and even handmade goods.”
The sale is slated to take place on Saturday and Sunday, May 14-15, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.
Taluswood Apartments are located at 4208 236th St. SW in Mountlake Terrace, with easy access from Cedar Way at 236th Street Southwest.

Was there on Saturday at 10am. Did not see any signs once inside the complex. Drove around, finally found one sale & asked where the rest were. I was told they were scattered and that I should have gotten a map when I drove up the main road. Never saw the food trucks. On the way out finally saw the table with the maps near the leasing office which was not obvious because it was set back from the main road.
Really hard on a car to constantly be turned on and off. Not going again unless they centralize the sale.
Unfortunately the City of Mountlake Terrace stepped in early in the week before the sale and required permits for the event and the food trucks. A permit was ultimately obtained for the garage sale, but the food trucks were unable to obtain the necessary permit due to time restraints. Taluswood is considering trying the event again in the late summer or early fall.
