The 36th Annual Arts of the Terrace Juried Art Show is set for Saturday, Sept. 27 through Sunday, Oct. 5 at the Mountlake Terrace Library.
Sponsored by the Mountlake Terrace Arts Commission and the Friends of the Arts, Arts of the Terrace is one of the major juried art shows held in the Pacific Northwest and attracts top artists from throughout the region.
This year nearly 180 artists submitted over 370 entries, which is by far the highest number of artists and art submissions in the show’s history. Artists compete for more than $4,000 in cash awards and art merchandise. The quality of the art pieces entered has increased the competition for being accepted in the show. Jurors accepted 267 pieces of art for this year’s show. Jurors include Joe MacKechnie for Paintings, Prints, Drawings and Miniatures, Mark Hopkins for photography, Aaron Haba for 3-Dimensional Works and Artisan Works, and Jackie Van Noy for Calligraphy.
Artists from as far away as Arkansas, British Columbia, Ellensburg and Bellingham entered the show, making it not only a regional show, but now a national and international show as well.
The show is free and open to the public Monday through Thursday, noon to 6 p.m., Friday and Saturday, noon to 5 p.m., and Sunday, Sept. 28, 1 to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 5, 1 to 3 p.m. The library is located at 23300 58th Ave. W.
