The Mountlake Terrace Senior Center is hosting an Advance Care Planning Workshop on Tuesday, Oct. 14.
Questions the workshop (1-4 p.m.) will address include:
Who will be your voice? Advance care planning is about making choices now about your health care options, prior to experiencing a serious illness, injury and at the end of your life.
It is a process of reflection, discussion and planning for a time when you are unable to communicate and speak for yourself. Too often the lack of advance care planning can result in questioning, confusion or disagreement among family members trying to envision and make decisions based on what you would want if you were unable to speak for yourself.
- Who will be your voice if you are unable to speak?
- What values shape your choices for treatment?
- What life-sustaining treatments do you want?
- What documents make your choices known to others.
The class called “Respecting Choices” is presented by the Snohomish County Health Leadership Coalition.
Space is limited and you must pre-register. Sign up at the welcome desk at the Mountlake Terrace Senior Center, 23000 Lakeview Dr. For more information call 425-672-2407.
