The Red Onion Raises $1,200 for "Shop with a Cop"

Here’s an update from the city on the Red Onion’s efforts to raise money to purchase gifts for needy children in Mountlake Terrace:

The Red Onion Burger restaurant in conjunction with the City of Mountlake Terrace Police Department will be hosting shop with a cop this holiday season. The Red Onion has received $1,200 dollars in donations to purchase Christmas presents for needy children in Mountlake Terrace.

The city;s Domestic Violence Unit assisted in identifying 24 children who will each receive a $50 gift card to Fred Meyer. On December 21, Mountlake Terrace Officers and Sean Richards, owner of The Red Onion Burger, will meet the children at the Lynnwood Fred Meyer Store, present them with the gift cards, and shop with them. The group will then return to the Red Onion Burger in Mountlake Terrace, for a hosted dinner.

The Red Onion adds that Santa will attending the dinner as well.
