It only seems that the Recreation Pavilion has gone to the dogs as the Mountlake Terrace Recreation and Parks Department is offering numerous classes and workshops for pet owners to take part in.
Dog First Aid, a one-day class intended to prepare pet owners for emergencies first aid actions and care, will be held on Saturday, March 8, 9:30 a.m.-noon at the Recreation Pavilion. Cost for the class is $48 for Mountlake Terrace residents, $53 for non-residents. Each class participant will receive the American Red Cross “Dog First Aid” manual and DVD.
Later in March, the pavilion will host three multi-week dog obedience classes for different pet ages and obedience levels. The classes begin the week of March 10 and continue into April.
On Tuesday, March 25, a one-day class on dog dental care will begin a series of stand-alone workshops addressing pet health care. The dog dental care class will help participants gain a better understanding of periodontal disease and the details of professional veterinary dental cleaning. The class will also cover some effective home care products and procedures for dog dental care, and includes a reference guide for each attendee to take home. The class costs $28 for Mountlake Terrace residents; $30 for non-residents.
