Edmonds School District crews erected a new electronic readerboard overlooking the parking lot of Brier Terrace Middle School late last week. The work is the culmination of fundraising by the school’s students and parents, and district talks with the City of Brier.
“It’s up and running!” exclaimed project coordinator Amy McVay. “I don’t have the software on my computer yet, but we’ve got a sign.”
McVay expects to be able to program messages and images on the electronic readerboard by the end of the week.
The City of Brier determined over the summer that the sign met city code standards. District crews placed the sign on the eastern exterior wall of the school’s gym in a position to be view by students and parents on campus, but not within sight of any city streets.
