The 2015 Mountlake Terrace Girls Soccer quick kicks:

  • The Hawks finished fifth in the 13-team Wesco 3A/2! last year with a record of 8-6-2 and qualified for the 3A District 1 tournament where they lost to Ferndale 2-0, defeated Meadowdale 2-1 and fell to Arlington 3-1
  • Mountlake Terrace was hit hard by graduation as a number of key Hawks won’t be back for 2015, including Lily Hart, Riley Zucker, Allison Lorraine and McKenna Hunt
  • Perhaps the most important returnee for the Hawks this year is coach Evan Hatch, who is back for just his third season at Mountlake Terrace.
  • Key players returning for the Hawks this year include twin sisters Julia and Sandra Hart, Donnya Kvinge, Claire Zucker and Sammy Ruiz
  • The Wesco 3A/2A is regarded by some to be the toughest prep girls soccer league in the state and this year should be no different; the league includes the defending 3A state champions (Edmonds-Woodway) and the 2A state runner-ups (Shorecrest)
  • The Hawks open their 2015 season at Edmonds Stadium on Tuesday, Sept. 8, with a 7:30 p.m. game against Mariner, the team they defeated in last year’s opening game 8-1
