Prep wrestling: Mountlake Terrace’s Massy records pair of wins

Senior Kevin Massey proved to be a bright spot for the home squad on a night when the Mountlake Terrace wrestling team suffered two defeats in a double dual meet at Mountlake Terrace High School.

Mountlake Terrace fell to Oak Harbor 53-22, then were topped by Stanwood 47-17 on Tuesday night.

Massey was the only Hawk double winner at the meet as the senior beat Jacob Dugan of Oak Harbor 15-7, then defeated Stanwood’s Trey Keizer 10-5.

Other Hawks to pick up victories in matches included Taron Castleton, Daniil Oliferovskiy, Lex Davis and Malcolm Johnson.

Mountlake Terrace heads over to Bremerton later this week for the two-day HammerHead Invitational on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 19-20. The tournament features more than 40 teams, with matches beginning each day at 9 a.m.
