Prep wrestling: Danill Oliferoskiy wins 152-pound title at Bainbridge Invite

By going undefeated in his three matches, Mountlake Terrace’s Daniil Oliferovskiy claimed the 152-pound title at the Bainbridge Island Invite wrestling tournament Saturday at Bainbridge High School.

Oliferovskiy picked up victories over Nick Woltersdorf of Kingston and Finn Childress of Mercer Island before defeating Eli Everson of Klahowya 5-4 in the 152-pound championship match.

In the team competition Terrace scored 93 points and finished 10th among the 13 squads competition at the tourney.

While Oliferovskiy captured an individual title, his younger brother Pavel won three of his four matches and placed fourth in the 128-pound division.

Other strong placements by Hawks on Saturday included Reyne Mack taking fourth place in the 170-pound division, Illai Wilson finishing fourth in the 285-pound division, Eric Breznen placing 5th in the 182-pound division, Mattias Kirk grabbing sixth in the 145-pound division and Kevin Massey finishing sixth in the 160-pound division.

Terrace returns to Wesco League dual-meet action on Friday, Jan. 16, when they host the Shorewood T-Birds. First match is scheduled for 7 p.m.
