While Mountlake Terrace was playing for nothing more than pride, it was Edmonds-Woodway who had a little more on the line Wednesday night in a clash of Wesco 3A volleyball rivals.
And it was the Warriors that came away with the victory.
Edmonds-Woodway blanked the Hawks 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-15) in the 2015 regular season finale for both squads.
E-W needed the win to remain in the hunt for the No. 8 seed in the 3A District 1 Volleyball Tournament that begins on Saturday, Oct. 31. But after the match the Warriors learned they were edged out of the tourney’s final berth after Marysville-Pilchuck defeated Arlington 3-1 in Marysville.
Like the Warriors, Mountlake Terrace’s 2015 season is now over as the squad finished winless in 12 league matches, 0-14 overall.
