The Edmonds-Woodway boys and the Lynnwood girls came out on top Friday at the Edmonds School District Championships, a meet that brought together for competition all four schools in the district.
The Warriors ran away with the boys’ title by capturing first place in nine of the 10 running events, including the 4×100 and the 4×400 relays. Sterling Mahan, Grady Okeson and Grant Whitcutt all won two events each for E-W.
The Lynnwood girls slipped past E-W for the girls’ team title by one point, helped by Royals’ teammates Jordyn Edwards and Mikayla Pivec each winning three events.
The Mountlake Terrace boys team finished second while the girls came in third.
