Following the completion of the 3A State Track and Field Championships in Tacoma on Saturday, athletes from the Edmonds School District may have needed a moving van to bring home all of their medals they earned at the three-day meet.

Chinne Okoronkwo of Mountlake Terrace completed a rare triple: three state championships won at one state meet. On Saturday Okoronkwo added the 3A Girls pole vault and the triple jump titles to the long jump championship that she picked up on Friday. Her mark of 13-03 in the pole vault set a state meet record, as was her effort in the triple jump of 41-10.25.
Okoronkwo, a junior, has now won six state individual event championships in her three years of competition.
Meadowdale’s Christapherson Grant finished this year’s state meet with two individual titles. The senior won the 3A Boys 300 hurdles on Saturday after claiming the 110 hurdles on Friday.
Lynnwood’s Jordyn Edwards came home a champion Saturday as the junior outran the field in the 3A Girls 400 race. Edwards finished fifth in the 200 dash.
Edwards did pick up a first place medal as part of the Lynnwood 1,600 meter relay team that won the 3A Girls event by more than two seconds over second place Enumclaw.
In the team scoring, Lynnwood just edged out Mountlake Terrace for third place overall in the 3A Girls Team competition with 54 points; the Hawks finished fourth in the standings with 46 points. Kamiakin won the 3A team title for the fourth straight year with 92 points.
On the boys side, Edmonds-Woodway and Meadowdale tied for sixth place in the team standings; Bellevue picked up their fourth straight state team title with 58 points.
