Though dropping the No. 1 and No. 2 singles matches in straight sets, it was the team depth of the Lynnwood boys tennis team that picked up enough wins on Monday to give the squad a 4-3 team victory over Mountlake Terrace in a Wesco 3A matchup at Lynnwood High School.

The win broke a five-game losing streak for Lynnwood. The Royals had not won a match since Sept. 25 when they defeated the Hawks by an identical 4-3 score.

Monday’s match was the regular season finale for the Royals; Terrace has one more date on their regular season schedule, a home match with the Edmonds-Woodway Warriors. The matchup will begin immediately following the completion of a Sept. 29 rain-suspended match between the Hawks and the Warriors beginning at 3:30 p.m; the squads are tied 2-2 with three matches yet to be completed.

The two-day Wesco League 3A South Tournament is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, Oct. 21.
