While the Mountlake Terrace softball team had its game against Kamiak rained out, the baseball, boys soccer and girls tennis team did see action on Tuesday.

The Terrace baseball team had to go to extra innings but pulled out a 5-4 victory over the visiting Lynnwood Royals when sophomore Jared Maxfield knocked in teammate Jesse Prothero with an RBI-single in the bottom of the ninth. Prothero led the Hawk offense by going 3-for-4 and scoring two runs in the win; Raiden Silva earned the pitching victory in relief of starter Ben Reijonen.

On the courts, the Hawk top three singles’ players – Nicki Bouche, Tina Liu and Allison Lorraine — all picked up victories on Tuesday, but Terrace fell to the visiting Arlington Eagles 4-3. The Hawks begin Wesco 3A play on Wednesday when they travel to Edmonds-Woodway.

The Hawk boys soccer team grabbed their first victory of the year with a 2-0 defeat of Marysville-Getchell. Erik Hynes converted a penalty kick in the game’s 10^th minute to open the Terrace scoring; Gavin Scott added an insurance goal at the start of the second half for the Hawks.

The MTHS-Kamiak softball game originally slated for Tuesday has been re-scheduled to Monday, Mar. 30.
