It was a busy day for Mountlake Terrace spring sports teams on Monday as baseball, boys soccer, softball and golf were all in action.

The baseball team saw its 2015 season end after an 8-3 defeat at the hands of Ferndale in a loser-out game of the District 1 3A tournament. Mountlake Terrace could only muster four base hits — two by Jaden Yackley — against Ferndale’s Corbin Puhan while the Golden Eagles pummeled Hawk pitchers for 12 hits in the game.

In his final high school game, senior Michael Hunt blasted a home run for the Hawks. Hunt played baseball this spring after a devastating leg fracture suffered in the first Mountlake Terrace football game of the season last September.

The Hawks finished the 2015 season with an 11-12 overall record.

Elsewhere, the Hawk boys soccer team kept its postseason run alive with a 2-1 victory over Marysville-Pilchuck in a loser-out match of the District 1 3A boys soccer tournament on Tuesday. Mountlake Terrace will now face Meadowdale in another elimination match on Thursday, May 14; kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Edmonds Stadium.
