The Mountlake Terrace softball team celebrated Senior Day with a 14-4 victory over visiting Lynnwood Wednesday in a Wesco 3A South matchup shortened to five innings due to the 10-run mercy rule.

Jazz Zenk pitched a complete game victory, striking out six and walking only three. The freshman also led the Hawk offense by going 2-for-3 with four RBIs and a run scored.

The Mountlake Terrace offensive attack was helped by 10 walks given up by Royals’ pitchers Dasia Lester and Maddie Morgan, six coming in the fourth inning when the Hawks broke the game open with nine runs.

Before the matchup, Mountlake Terrace Coach Shannon Rasmussen and her underclassman team members honored squad seniors Cassandra Cariker, Sammy Harter and Hannah Wilcox.

In other action on Wednesday, the boys soccer team, girls tennis team and the baseball squad all finished their regular seasons on losing notes. The soccer squad fell to the 2015 Wesco League champions Shorecrest 3-0, the girls tennis team were defeated by Shorewood 4-3, and the baseball team lost a heartbreaker to Meadowdale 4-3.
