A number of Mountlake Terrace Hawks proved to be double trouble Thursday, picking up wins in more than one individual event at a three-team Wesco 3A track meet at Edmonds Stadium.

Freshman Hawk Julia Hart took the top spot in both the long jump and the triple jump. Hart won the long jump with a leap of 15-03.25 and the triple jump with a mark of 33-04.00.

Hart was also part of the Hawks relay team — with teammates Tiana Pennington-Obispo, Sophia Parsons and Isabel Kembel – that placed first in both the 400- and the 800-meter relays.

In addition to her relay victories, Pennington-Obispo nabbed first place in the 100, edging out Shorewood’s Olivia Lesso by four-thousandths of a second.

Other multiple events winners from Mountlake Terrace were Marika Jamtaas (800 and 3200), McKenna Hunt (100 hurdles and 300 hurdles), Hailee Malins (shot put and discus) and Alisha Clingan (javelin and high jump).

In other MTHS action on Thursday, the Hawk girls tennis team fell to the Shorewood T-Birds 4-3 at Mountlake Terrace High School. Seven of Mountlake Terrace’s 11 losses this season have been by the same 4-3 score.
