The Meadowdale Mavericks softball and girls tennis teams traveled to Mountlake Terrace and picked up victories in Wesco 3A action on Friday; the softball team clobbered the Hawks 19-2 in five innings while the tennis squad slipped past Terrace 4-3.

On the softball diamond, the Mavericks took advantage of 10 walks and five Hawk errors to run away with the win. Meadowdale’s Haili Taylor picked up three RBIs by batting 2-for-2 with a two-run homer and an RBI-single. Samantha Gregoryk went 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI and a run scored while earning the win on the mound by giving up just two earned runs on five hits.

Hawk Ashley Fitzgerald was involved with Terrace’s only scores as the senior had an RBI-double and then scored a run.

On the tennis courts, Terrace’s top three singles’ players all picked up easy straight set victories, but Meadowdale won the No. 4 singles’ match and swept all three doubles’ matches to grab the team win.
