The girls tennis teams of Edmonds-Woodway and Mountlake Terrace High Schools started a very busy week of competition Monday by facing each other at Mountlake Terrace High School. The Warriors defeated the Hawks 6-1 in the Wesco League South Conference match-up.

Both squads have four matches scheduled over five days this week. On Tuesday, E-W will host the Glacier Peak Grizzlies while the Hawks will travel to Shorewood to face the T-Birds.

In other Terrace sports action on Monday, senior golfer Mike Jensen shot an even par 33 to take the medalist honors in a four-team match played at the Nile Golf Course in Mountlake Terrace. As a team the Hawks finished behind Shorewood, Meadowdale and Shorecrest. The T-Birds captured first place by one stroke over the Mavericks on Monday.
