The season came to an end for the Mountlake Terrace girls soccer team Thursday night as the Hawks fell to the Arlington Eagles 3-1 in an loser-out 3A District 1 game.
A goal by senior Riley Zucker, off a Lily Hart assist, was the only score Terrace could muster against a tough Eagle defense. Arlington picked up two goals by senior Bre Morren and another from senior Kaylee Bartley to pick up the win.
The Hawks had been the No. 5 seed in the District tourney, dropping their opening match of the postseason 2-0 to No. 4-seeded Ferndale before defeating No. 8-seeded Meadowdale 2-1. The loss to No. 2-seeded Arlington left Terrace with a 9-8-2 overall record for the 2014 season.
Arlington (15-4) moves on to face Ferndale in the 3rd place match in the District tournament on Saturday at Arlington High School. The top-seeded Edmonds-Woodway Warriors take on Shorewood on Saturday for the District 1 championship.
