For three of the game’s four quarters, Mountlake Terrace stayed competitive with their Wesco 3A South opponent Friday night; but one bad quarter doomed the Hawks to yet another loss.

Mountlake Terrace fell to Shorewood 66-36 in a matchup at Shorewood High School.

Up by only five points at halftime, 24-19, Shorewood came out of the break on fire, outscoring Mountlake Terrace 29-2 in the decisive third quarter.

Lily Gustafson and Karrin Leazer each scored 15 points to lead the T-Birds in scoring. Hawk senior Riley Zucker tallied 18 points to lead all scorers.

Terrace (0-6 in league play, 1-12 overall) will face their most difficult challenge of the season on Wednesday, Jan. 21, when they must face the state’s top-ranked 3A squad, the undefeated Lynnwood Royals, at Lynnwood High School. Tip-off is slated for 7:15 p.m.
