The Mountlake Terrace Hawks girls basketball team put together one of their best defensive efforts of the season, but it wasn’t quite enough to grab a victory Friday night; the Hawks fell to the Everett Seagulls 33-29 in a non-league matchup at Mountlake Terrace High School.
The two squads began the fourth quarter tied 20-20, but a 13-point output in the quarter earned the Seagulls the win.
The Zucker sisters, Riley and Claire, scored 21 of the Hawks’ 29 points; Riley Zucker led all scorers with 12 points while Claire Zucker added 9 points. Sydney Taggart tallied 10 points to lead the Seagulls in the victory.
