The Mountlake Terrace girls cross country squad blew away the competition, taking the top five individual spots and winning the team title at the Hoquiam Invitational on Saturday.
Ella Schroth won the girls varsity race over the 5,000-meter course at Hoquiam High School in a time of 19:24.26; teammates Katherine Walter, Katherine Gustafson, Jessica Ong and Sophia Nelson followed in order in front of the remaining 66 competitors in the field.
Mountlake Terrace’s Braeden Sims beat out 96 other runners to win the boys varsity race in a time of 16:24.56.
The Hawks cross country team closes out the 2015 regular season on Thursday, Oct. 15, when they compete in the Edmonds District Meet against Lynnwood, Meadowdale and host Edmonds-Woodway at Ballinger Park in Mountlake Terrace. First races are set for 3:15 p.m.
