With more than 4,000 runners from 120 middle and high schools, the members of the Mountlake Terrace cross country team could have easily been overwhelmed at one of the largest meets held in the nation each year. But the Hawk runners remained focused and picked up good finishes at the Sept. 27 Nike Pre-Nationals held at Portland Meadows in Portland, Ore.
The Mountlake Terrace girls participated in the top high school division at the meet, the Danner Championships, finishing 13th in the 21-team field. The Hawk boys grabbed third place in the 21-team field of the Division 3 event.

The Terrace cross country teams jump back into Wesco League competition on Thursday, Oct. 2, when they face the squads from Oak Harbor, Stanwood and Everett at City Beach/Windjammer Park in Oak Harbor beginning at 3:45 p.m.
