Prep boys basketball: Hawks prevail over Royals

MTHSHawks-logo-200x2002With their best defensive effort of the season, the Mountlake Terrace Hawks held the Lynnwood Royals to just 38 points and prevailed 53-38 in a Wesco 3A South boys basketball game Tuesday night at Lynnwood High School.

The Hawks were led by the 17 points of Gabe Altenberger; teammate Justin Hopkins added 10 points. Hawk Ryan Lacasse returned to action after missing three games due to an injury and scored five points in the win.

Royal Tyler McArthur led all scorers in the game with 20 points.

The loss extended Lynnwood’s current losing streak to 10games; Terrace, with the win, moved into a tie with conference rivals Meadowdale and Edmonds-Woodway in the Wesco 3A South standings with a 3-4 league record.
